Max's 9th Birthday Party

Max decided to have a sports/swim party this year. He invited several boy's over this year from school and church and had a really fun party. We were a little bummed before the party started because it had been raining all morning, but shortly before the party started the rain stopped. So we ate lunch first, hot dogs of course, and then opened gifts and had cake to try and let it dry out a little outside. The boys decided it was time to get outside and play some sorts after not too long, so they played football first and then baseball. It was so fun to watch them get so competitive and try their best. We were unsure at first if anyone would even want to go swimming after all the rain and it being overcast, but somehow during all of the sports playing, the sun came out and it got really hot and humid and the boys couldn't wait to get into the pool! It ended up being a perfect day for a party after all and Max had a great time with all of his friends.

Max said Tyler sure knows how to wrap a present. It had candy and gifts attached to the outside of the wrapping.

Can you tell he's not at all excited about this gum and candy a friend gave him??

Max chose a red velvet cake after liking the one we had on Mother's Day so much. This one didn't taste quite as good, but it actually worked out just great because Max and the boys thought it tasted like root beer cake!!

Eliza got all glammed up to be a cheerleader for the boys, but got distracted by the bugs the rain brought instead...

Eliza loves bugs! Look close, there's a lady bug by her elbow. Isn't she the cutest thing, you ever did see?! We sure think so!

Max is gearing up with his brand new gloves, baseballs, and bat we bought him for his birthday.

When the party was over, Max, Gage and Carl got in a water fight with some girls that were at the pool. I think the boys won....
