Easter Cupcakes

My sweet friend Lindsey from school loves to think of cute little crafts or treats to do with the kids. It was so sweet of her, she brought everything. She even pre-made the cupcakes. We made cute little chicks and easter basket cupcakes and the kids LOVED it! They thought they were so cute and fun. The last time Lindsey came over she brought us stuff to make reindeer cookies, I hope the kids don't expect a craft or treat every time she comes over. Thanks again for another fun treat Linds!!

Ward Party

The ward held a party at the YMCA and we had a wonderful time. The whole place was reserved just for us. We ate dinner, played racquetball, went swimming, and played basketball. The kids had such a great time hanging out with all of their church friends. We hope they do this every year!

Pinewood Derby

A few nights before the Pinewood Derby was a Pack meeting. The boys both received awards. Max earned his Wolf and Gage earned some pins. Max loves to be silly as you can see.

Gage and his friend Jared Hiatt.

Gage had a skateboard shaped derby car this year and Max had an army truck. It even had a machine gun on the top of it which he thought was awesome. Max did such a great job on the camo paint job.

Look at Max all tensed up as he is anxiously waiting for Blake to pull the lever to let his derby car race down the track.

Even Eliza made a car this year. Her's was heart shaped and painted pink and purple of course! Her and Max's cars are getting ready to race each other down the track. The scouts were so sweet to her and even cheered for her over the other boys. She actually had a pretty fast car and won some of her races.

Max even had some race fans!!

Max with Fred Bergman, the cubmaster.

The winner's of the race. Max came in third. It was a bummer for Gage because his car was doing awesome and winning almost every time, but the track they used was not in the best shape and scraped up the cars pretty good and ended up busting the wheels off of some of the boy's cars. Gage's car unfortunately was one of them. I'm positive that he would have placed also had his wheels not broke off. I was super excited however that Max won a trophy. He was soooo excited and on such a high afterwards. It was fun to see him feeling so proud.

Another Snow Day

We had another snow "storm". It is so different here after it snows because it is usually pretty warm so the kids go out in their t-shirts and play in the snow. Max and Lize start with their jackets on, but they usually come off at some point. Blake, Max and Eliza made a super snowman. It was taller than Blake!

Blake hasn't got as much 4-wheeling time here as he had expected so he takes the opportunity on snow days to get the 4-wheeler out. He took Eliza and Breonna for a ride.

4th of July Park in Kernersville, NC

Is this amazing or what?? It is the beginning of February and we are in the warm sunshine playing at a park already! I LOVE it!! I could get used to this. Gage heard from a friend that this park had a skate park so he of course wanted to check it out. It was such a great park! There was a big field for playing sports, a nice playground, tennis courts, a skate park, and a little creek for splashing around in. The kids ran around playing and skateboarding, we had a picnic lunch, and I took in the sunshine while studying. Well attempted to study anyways....the beautiful day was a little too distracting!

Gage and Toby Dieckman

Gage is apparently getting a little too old for picture taking in front of his friends. Plus, Blake and I might have been a little annoying trying to boost his courage to go down the higher ramps ~ only a little of course!
