Gage's (early) Birthday Party

So every year we have such a dilemma trying to plan Gage's birthday party because school always starts during the week of his birthday. It makes it really hard to invite any new friends he might because it's a little awkward to hand out invitations on the first day of school. We've tried doing it a week or two after school starts, but then we're dealing with Labor Day weekend interfering with party plans. This year we just decided to have a really early party for him. We had it the week before school ended and it worked out great. He had a pool party and wanted to keep it very low key - no cake, no singing, no party favors or decorations. This was a real change from the norm, but worked for me. It was the easiest party we've ever thrown - ordered some pizza's, made some cupcakes, bought some drinks and Wah~La, we had a party!!
